worst ad ever

ok, so i'm walking back to the subway station along yonge and wellesley sunday night and i see this billboard (pictured above, but without the navigation buttons). it's of a non-descript, educated-looking white man in his... we'll call them mid-40's. he's thinking about something to do with his enterprise or his international corporation or some such thing in a sharp suit, casually undecorated by a tie. so what. what does he want? what is persuasive to him? what is her persuading me to contemplate? why, INNOVATIVE TELECOM, that's what!! oh, and he also has some SOLUTIONS FOR (MY) BUSINESS!! why, thanks fella! that's something no one has ever offered to me or my company EVER BEFORE!! THANK GOD YOU'VE ARRIVED!!! WE'RE SAVED!!!!

now, because i used to work at this company (to protect the innocent, i'll give it a fictitious pseudonym, like "ass-stream"), and i know that there are capable and qualified people who work there, i felt sad to see this complete waste of advertising dollars. i've seen advertising a million times more effective selling Special-K on the subway (i re-read their ad like 5 times, the copy was so good), or selling beer by having supermodels wrestling in the mud (trying to say here that that was a bad thing). i even know that there is one or maybe two capable people in marketing at "ass-stream" but it's a shame that their dissenting voices are never heeded.

also, those are the worst menu buttons ever created. sheesh. have some corporate pride, losers.
