flight of the conchords

well - i was completely unprepared for the immediate and enormous response to my last post. it turns out that everyone (well, triple-figures... well, that's not triple figures, that three) has been into FOTC forever. i discovered them during my "eddie izzard" phase earlier this year through an unrelated, but somehow youtube-connected related videos link and since then, i've spent almost every non-work-related moment devouring every moment of content that anyone has seen fit to place on youtube. i credit bret and jemaine for allowing me to maintain my sanity while i was lying in my frosty basement apartment in calgary, wondering if there was intelligent life outside of my project team and alberta in general - watching their first season of HBO content.

i don't usually ask much of my readers, but it would be a neat thing if you could leave comments about when you first discovered FOTC and how immediate your affection for them was. a couple of you have been so kind as to let me know that i'm only a couple to a dozen years behind the rest of the planet in learning of these charming boys from wellington, but for the rest of you, i wonder just how deep the underground love of my new favourite kiwis is! you can reply anonymously... i just think that it's great that so many people can enjoy guys with real talent and imagination like i do.

ps. i had two great - REALLY GREAT - blog ideas... but i had to kill them both because they would jeopardize non-disclosure commitments that i hold through my employer. this is a double-blow against my blogging credibility because they dealt with serious issues like corporate culture and environmentalism and would have helped to offset the disparity between my superficial blog and the blog of my incredibly-socially-aware colleague and friend, jim. ah well.
pps. i am working on a very elaborate timelapse video with my favourite co-stars, hans and gretel, and that should be online next week. :)

song of the day for having a pathological need for approval of beautiful women: the most beautiful girl in the room
